Born with a passion for horses and an inherited interest in metal work, Cathy has been shoeing horse’ for almost thirty years. Her practice consists of mostly hunters, jumpers, dressage, endurance, eventers and pleasure horses with an interest in lameness.
In 1988 Cathy was the team farrier for the Canada East Endurance team and accompanied the team to the championships in Kentucky where they won the silver medal. A couple of years later Cathy was the team farrier for the World Championship Endurance ride and assisted the team to win the gold medal. In 1999 Cathy was the team farrier again for the Canada East Endurance team when they competed in the Pan Am Games in Winnipeg.
Cathy purchased her first horse when she was fifteen. She competed for many years in barrel racing and other speed games then became interested in eventing. After many years competing successfully to Prelim level Cathy still has her retired eventer and rides for pleasure.
