Dr. Natalia Novoa was born in Nashville, Tennessee but returned with her parents and 5 siblings to their native Colombia where she completed all of her veterinary education. Since receiving her veterinary degree over 10 years ago, Natalia has been focusing on equine athletes. After graduation Natalia performed technical duties at Palm Beach Equine Clinic in Wellington, Florida. She then spent substantial time with Dr. Barbara Page of Colorado Equine Clinic in Littleton, Colorado as well as McMartin & Associates at Woodbine Racetrack in Toronto, Ontario. Since 2005 Natalia has been working winters in Ocala, Florida with Dr. Robert Barber of Laurel Lane Equine Center at the H.I.T.S. circuit shows. Natalia maintains full veterinary licensure and federal government accreditation (Coggins testing, health papers) in both Florida and Ontario. Typical performance horse work for Natalia includes pre-purchase examinations, lameness examinations, mesotherapy, chiropractic assessments and adjustments and the use of stem cells and platelet rich plasma in resolving lameness problems. Natalia also invests time in ensuring equine athletes under her care are on suitable preventative health care programs (vaccinations, deworming, dental care). Natalia is eager to provide seamless care to her Canadian clients in Florida as well as when they're back in Ontario in the summer. Natalia is married to Roberto Teran, a trainer and Grand Prix jumper rider at King Ridge Stables in King, Ontario and Ocala, Florida. Both Natalia and Roberto fluently speak English and Spanish.
